John Parkinson is Chief Executive Officer of HRGO Recruitment, where he has led the group’s digital transformation over the past decade. With a background in software development, he has modernised HRGO by introducing technology while still preserving family values.
As the business’s third generation joint owner, John is focused on improving the experience of hiring for both clients and candidates. Guided by the mission “to leave everyone better than we find them,” he works to make recruitment more transparent and human through technology.
As part of this commitment, he has led research into the future of hiring. This includes a two-year UK Research & Innovation-funded partnership with the University of Kent, exploring how AI and machine learning can improve candidate matching and recruitment experiences.
Alongside HRGO, John is also CEO of Eclipse Group, where he helps organisations build better products and services through experimentation. He also speaks regularly on AI, innovation, and modern business leadership, and invests in early-stage businesses with his sister Sydney.
