James Reed CBE, Chairman and CEO of Reed Recruitment has called on the Government to reverse the planned changes to inheritance tax for family businesses.
Writing in the Sunday Times, James Reed argues that “the ecosystem of the family firms that underpin the UK’s economic life is at risk from a short-sighted tax policy that I believe should be reversed.”
In his article, James Reed argues that the consequences of the policy will be a chilling effect on investment and recruitment and a forced sale or break-up of companies. He asks “is this the UK’s strategy? If not, the government should think again.”
