About

Engaging with the media can be a daunting prospect. Knowing who to approach, when, what to say, how to say it and fear of being misquoted can often make it easier to say nothing. But knowing how to use the media to your advantage, can be a fantastic way of enhancing your reputation and raising your profile.

But, before you begin any media engagement it is important to have a clear idea of what you want to get out of it.

This one-hour, online workshop will give you an insight into how the media works, how it is structured, what journalists are looking for and not looking for. It will give you tips on how and when to approach them, how to construct your messages and how and when to decline an interview.

Join FBUK’s Communications Director, Martin Greig who spent 15 years as a broadcast journalist, and FBUK Board Adviser and award-winning journalist Alison Philips, who previously served as Editor-In-Chief of the Daily and Sunday Mirror.

This will be an interactive session with presentations and Q&A.

This session will be repeated on 14 October.

Who should attend?
