Ross McAlpine –
Speaker
Ross McAlpine is a Director of McAlpine & Co Ltd and the fourth generation of his family in the business. Founded in Glasgow 119 years ago, McAlpine still makes its plumbing products in Scotland, employs around 780 people and sells in more than 90 countries.
Ross’s focus is a question most family businesses face sooner or later: how do you modernise a business built over generations without losing what made it work? He’ll talk about what that looks like in practice, and why McAlpine has chosen to stay in Glasgow when much of UK manufacturing has gone elsewhere. He lives in Glasgow with his wife and two sons.
